Project Goal

A program that combines various materials: video, music, meditation and articles as well as online consultations of psychologists. To help Millennials & Gen-Z to talk their feelings out and use features that can help them improve their mental health.

User Goal

  • Prioritize and manage mental health and hygiene in general.

  • Gain knowledge about your own problems and learn how to deal with them.

  • Reduce the number of triggers and things in your life that don't contribute to your mental health.

  • Become more comfortable with sharing your own feelings.

  • Learn how to overcome self-doubt and negative thinking.

Business Goal

  • Allow people to better manage their mental health and well-being.

  • Encourage people to be proactive about their mental health.

  • Regardless of age or gender identity, appeal to a wide range of people.

  • Assist in changing societal perceptions of mental health and hygiene.

  • Become known as a low-cost, high-impact mental wellness solution.

I started with interviewing the stakeholders

What are the main goals and objectives for implementing a mental health care app? 

  • Personal mental health support : prioritize access to immediate mental health support and resources for the stakeholder to address their own mental health needs.

  • Balance Self-Care and work 

  • Provide Educational Resource

  • Privacy and Security: prioritize user privacy and confidentiality.

  • User Engagement: Encourage consistent usage of the app by providing engaging content, features, and incentives to keep users motivated.

  • 24/7 Support

  • Community Building

Is this app created for domestic or international use?

  • The app is only available in English so far but can be downloaded internationally.

Who are the targeted audience for this application?

  • People who may not have a diagnosed mental health condition but are interested in maintaining and improving their mental well-being and emotional resilience. 

  • People who are experiencing various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, stress, bipolar disorder, eating disorders and more.

What expectations do you have through this product?

  • Improved Mental Health Outcomes

  • High user engagement and adoption rates. 

  • Successful collaborations with mental health professionals, organizations and stakeholders to enhance the app’s effectiveness. 

  • Ensure the user data privacy and safety.

According to 2023 mental health data, about 13% of the global population grapples with mental health and substance use issues. Given the added stress and changes from the COVID-19 pandemic and global economy recession, this percentage might increase.

Despite progress in some countries, individuals with mental health issues often endure human rights abuses, discrimination, and persistent stigma.  

 

Effective treatment coverage remains distressingly low.

Potential Users

A KFF Health Tracking Poll from March 2022 also found that with 90% of U.S. adults believing that the country is facing a mental health crisis.

  • High school students aged 12-17. Students in this age group might face stress to achieve high scores to progress in their education.

  • Final year graduate students/passed out students, aged 18-24, preparing for campus placement/Jobs. Students in this phase often feel anxious about securing good job position and may experience peer pressure. 

​

  • Female adults aged 25-40. Individuals in this category often face intense work pressure, juggle family responsibilities and may face health issues.

Quantitative User Research

I conducted a broad survey among 40 participants to derive statistical insights and make data-driven decisions. By quantifying user experiences, I can identify trends and measure performance metrics.

Empathy Map

I want to use qualitative research to gather in-depth insights and understanding individuals experiences, perspectives, behaviors and social interaction.

By making an empathy map, we were able to visualize and understand our user’s responses, behaviors and cognitive function, giving us a sneak of the user’s exact emotions/feelings when facing the problem.

The Millennials and Gen Z were too afraid to share their feelings and weren’t able to find and get any kind of solution to problems that are worsening their mental health condition.

When I was creating a user person I relied on demographic analytic information, answers from the survey and reviews of similar applications.

Two types of users.

  • introverted and want to do a self care from indirect process

  • extroverted and willing to share thought through one to one conversation.
